1) Minister of Religion – Sunday School Pastor (Adults)
About the role:
Lead adult discipleship, services and Bible teaching in line with C&S liturgy.
Key responsibilities:
Lead services and prayer meetings; teach Scripture; design adult discipleship curriculum; provide pastoral care including visitation and counselling; mentor facilitators; support evangelism and small group integration; maintain ministry records and follow safeguarding, data protection and church policies.
2) Minister of Religion – Sunday School Youth Pastor
About the role:
Lead children, teenagers and young adults in worship, spiritual growth and Christian teaching.
Key responsibilities:
Lead youth worship and Bible lessons; create discipleship pathways; organise youth retreats, vigils and outreach; support transitions from children’s church to adult membership; provide pastoral care and ensure safeguarding; maintain attendance and programme records.
3) Minister of Religion – Discipleship & Bible Teaching Pastor
About the role:
Strengthen biblical teaching, discipleship systems and spiritual formation across the church.
Key responsibilities:
Lead worship, Bible studies and vigils; teach foundational doctrines and spiritual disciplines; develop discipleship programmes (new believers, baptism, workers in training); provide pastoral care and mentoring; train volunteer teachers; integrate new members; maintain accurate teaching records and comply with safeguarding requirements.
4) Minister of Religion – Home Visitation Pastor
About the role:
Lead structured pastoral visitation and provide spiritual support to members.
Key responsibilities:
Visit elderly, sick, vulnerable and new members; offer prayer, counselling and spiritual guidance; support ordinances; coordinate care plans; record visits and escalate safeguarding concerns; support integration into church life.
5) Minister of Religion – Worship Lead Pastor
About the role:
Oversee worship services and church liturgical flow in accordance with C&S doctrine.
Key responsibilities:
Plan and lead services, vigils and special worship programmes; preach/teach as scheduled; coordinate choir, ushers, intercessors and media; ensure doctrinal alignment; train worship leaders and uphold conduct and dress standards.
PERSON SPECIFICATION (essential for all roles)
• Genuine Occupational Requirement: Must be a practising Christian committed to the beliefs and worship of the Cherubim & Seraphim Church of Zion (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9).
• Recognised ordination/commissioning (C&S Church of Zion or closely aligned Pentecostal tradition).
• Minimum 3 years’ ministerial experience in preaching, teaching and pastoral care.
• Strong Bible knowledge; spiritual maturity; excellent communication and leadership.
• Understanding of safeguarding (training provided); ability to work evenings/weekends.
Desirable:
Theological training; experience in discipleship, education, youth work or volunteer development.
