Your new company
You'll be joining a leading global biopharmaceutical organisation recognised for its strong investment in scientific innovation and cutting edge R&D. The company is currently delivering a major facility upgrade and expanding its technical project delivery team to support the integration of new systems, infrastructure, and laboratory capabilities. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a capital project within a forward-thinking organisation that prioritises quality, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Your new role

  • In this role, you will be assisting in guiding the transition of a major new facility from construction to full operational readiness. You will be involved in integrating complex building systems and highly specialised laboratory infrastructure, ensuring they perform seamlessly and reliably from day one.
  • You will coordinate system readiness activities across critical disciplines, including laboratory equipment, automation platforms, digital control systems, environmental management technologies, and core facility infrastructure.
  • You will collaborate closely with construction teams, engineering designers, specialist system vendors, and operational leaders to ensure systems are fully functional, verified, and aligned with performance of the facility.
  • You will set the standard for technical excellence by leading robust system testing, assuring the highest level of documentation quality, and orchestrating the full sequence of start-up and facility readiness activities.
  • Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering a safe, fully verified, and high-performing environment that enables scientific and operational teams to operate at their best from day one.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong experience delivering technical projects within complex, highly serviced facilities such as laboratories, R&D centres, GMP sites, or similar environments.
  • Solid understanding of building systems, MEP services, automation/controls platforms, and specialist laboratory technologies.
  • Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and system readiness documentation.
  • Exceptional coordination skills with the ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple technical work streams.
  • Confident, professional communicator able to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to remain calm, analytical, and effective under pressure.
  • Ideally, experience working within a laboratory environment and understanding the operational demands, workflows, and technical behaviour of lab based systems.

You must have existing Right to Work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available for this role

What you'll get in return

  • The opportunity to play a key role in a significant capital project shaping the future of a global R&D organisation.
  • Exposure to a diverse range of technical systems, infrastructure, and specialist laboratory environments.
  • A collaborative and supportive working culture with strong emphasis on development and knowledge sharing.
  • Competitive day rate or salary package (depending on hiring route).
  • Potential long term project continuity or future opportunities within the wider organisation.
