Audio Publishing Operations Intern

Are you a creative problem solver, who is detail-driven and ready to get stuck into complex projects? Do you enjoy understanding how systems work and improving them? If audiobooks interest you and you thrive in a fast-paced environment, this could be the role for you.

A bit about the team and projects you'll work on:

Penguin Audio is the UK’s leading audiobook publisher, producing exceptional listening experiences across every division. The Audio Publishing Operations team sits at the centre of the department, ensuring processes run smoothly from acquisition through to post-publication, responding to challenges in real time and connecting teams across the department to keep projects on track.

You’ll support day-to-day operational work, including updating metadata, maintaining our top titles across retailer platforms, assisting with sample clip preparation and contributing to a large-scale archiving project. You’ll attend production meetings and gain visibility into recording schedules, casting and studio operations. A key project will involve analysing and organising data as part of an evolving partnership with Audible, helping strengthen publishing processes and retailer relationships. This role blends logistics, data management and creative awareness, offering a behind-the-scenes view of how audiobooks are produced and positioned.

Knowledge and skills you’ll gain: Understanding of end-to-end audio publishing workflows; insights into retailer platforms and merchandising; data analysis; operational project management; stakeholder communication and cross-team collaboration; quality control processes; audio terminology; studio insight; process optimisation.
