An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a Laundry Assistant to work in an exceptional care home based in the Altrincham, Cheshire area. You will be working for one of UK’s leading health care providers

This care home provides comfortable, en-suite accommodation and exceptional, round-the-clock care provided by a dedicated team who treat residents with dignity, kindness, and compassion

As the Laundry Assistant your key duties include:
• Operate laundry equipment safely and in line with training and manufacturer guidance
• Sort, wash, dry and iron residents’ clothing, bedding and linen, following care labels and instructions
• Safely manage infected laundry and prevent cross-contamination in line with infection control procedures
• Distribute clean laundry to residents’ rooms and linen cupboards, reporting unidentified items as needed
• Carry out basic mending and identify items requiring dry cleaning
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness within the laundry area and ensure equipment is clean and well maintained
• Follow COSHH, manual handling, health & safety and infection prevention requirements at all times
• Respect residents’ privacy, dignity and choice
• Attend training, supervision, appraisals and staff meetings as required

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
• Previous experience of laundry work (desirable)
• Good communication and listening skills
• The ability to follow instructions and prioritise tasks effectively
• A positive, flexible approach to work
• Sensitivity to the needs of older people and a commitment to quality service
• Willingness to undertake training and development

The successful Laundry Assistant will receive an excellent salary of £13.10 per hour. This exciting position is a part time role working 14 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
