1.1 SEN Support- Yr6
Location: Coventry North Contract: Long-term sickness cover Start: ASAP Hours: Full-time, term-time
Are you resilient, patient, and ready for a role where no two days are ever the same? We’re looking for a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work closely with a Year 6 pupil who has severe learning difficulties, severe Autism, and an EHCP in place. This is a highly rewarding position that requires commitment, consistency, and a genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs.
About the Role
You will be working on a one-to-one basis with a child who:
•
Has significant communication and cognitive challenges
•
Struggles with concentration and requires frequent redirection
•
Needs a calm, structured, and predictable adult presence
•
Benefits enormously from routine, patience, and consistency
Your role will involve:
•
Providing tailored support in line with the child’s EHCP
•
Helping the pupil remain engaged and regulated throughout the school day
•
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
•
Supporting emotional, social, and academic development
•
Adapting activities to meet the child’s individual needs
What We’re Looking For:
This role is ideal for someone who is:
•
Resilient and able to stay calm under pressure
•
Reliable and committed to providing consistent support
•
Adaptable, as every day will bring new challenges
•
Confident working with children with severe Autism and SLD
•
Compassionate, patient, and genuinely invested in the child’s progress
Experience with SEN, Autism, or behaviour support is highly desirable, but the right attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
Why This Role Matters:
For this child, consistency is everything. Your presence will help create a safe, predictable environment where they can thrive. If you’re someone who finds purpose in making a real difference—especially for a child who needs stability and understanding—this could be the perfect role for you.
