Quality Engineer Opportunity
An established automotive manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join its Quality Assurance team based in Rochdale.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Quality Engineer to play a key role in managing customer and internal quality issues, supporting new product introduction, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
Working closely with production, engineering, suppliers and customers, you will help maintain and enhance product quality standards within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Quality Engineer Role
Reporting to the Quality / Process Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of customer and internal quality issues, working alongside a team of quality supervisors and senior inspectors.
You will also play a key role in developing and improving quality standards, supporting new product introduction, and ensuring compliance with industry and customer requirements.
Quality Engineer Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development and improvement of product and process quality standards across manufacturing operations.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams, suppliers, and customers to improve quality methodologies and processes.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including the development, introduction and approval of new products and manufacturing processes.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns, leading investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Track and manage quality issues through to resolution and financial closure, ensuring accurate reporting.
• Conduct customer and supplier visits in line with business and customer requirements.
• Perform internal and external audits in line with the company audit schedule and to support purchasing and NPI activities.
• Monitor customer scorecards and quality KPIs, providing analysis and reports to senior management.
• Develop and maintain data collection and reporting systems to support quality improvement initiatives.
Quality Engineer Skills & Experience Required
• Engineering degree, HND, or equivalent qualification, or significant experience within plastics manufacturing.
• Qualified ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 internal auditor.
• Working knowledge and practical experience with IATF Core Quality Tools, including:
• APQP
• PPAP
• FMEA
• SPC
• MSA
• Experience working within a Tier 1 manufacturing environment supplying automotive or blue-chip customers.
• Strong experience in data analysis, quality reporting, and performance monitoring.
• High level of IT literacy, including Microsoft Office, ERP systems and customer portals.
Desirable Manufacturing Experience
Experience within manufacturing environments involving:
• Injection moulding
• Paint finishing
• Assembly operations

Additional Requirements
• Full UK Driving Licence and ability to travel to customer and supplier sites when required.
• Passport holder.
• Full right to work in the UK.
