TeacherActive is currently recruiting Exam Invigilators and Exam Scribes to support secondary schools and colleges across Taunton and the surrounding Somerset areas during the upcoming GCSE and A-Level examination periods.

This is a seasonal and flexible role, ideal for individuals who are looking for short-term work during exam periods while supporting schools to ensure examinations run smoothly and fairly.

No previous invigilation experience is required as full training will be provided, however candidates must be professional, punctual, and comfortable working within strict exam regulations.

Exam Invigilator & Scribe Responsibilities

Depending on the role, responsibilities may include:

• Supervising students during GCSE and A-Level examinations

  
  

• Ensuring exam regulations and procedures are followed

  
  

• Distributing and collecting exam papers

  
  

• Maintaining a quiet and controlled exam environment

  
  

• Supporting students who require additional help as a scribe or reader

  
  

• Reporting any issues or irregularities to the lead invigilator or exams officer

  
  The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)

    
    

  • Be reliable, punctual and professional

    
    

  • Have strong attention to detail

    
    

  • Be confident following exam procedures and instructions

    
    

  • Be comfortable supporting students in a secondary school environment

    
    

  • Be available during the GCSE and A-Level exam periods

    
    

    Previous experience working in schools, education, support roles or administration would be beneficial but is not essential.
