Crynodeb
The Acute Medical Unit plays a major role in the provision and co-ordination of teaching of clinical medicine to Peninsula medical students, particularly 3rd, 4th and 5th year students, who spend a significant part of their clinical training on the MAU. The post holder would provide a substantial proportion of this teaching, around 24 hours a week. This would be in the form of formal feedback sessions, competency assessments and lectures. In addition to this they would be responsible for compiling the junior rota (under the guidance of one of the consultants) and organising the post graduate teaching sessions on the unit, including SIM training. Outwith term time it is expected that you will be involved in the clinical services on the unit and will be part of the Acute Medical Registrar rota. Although there will also be a degree of clinical work within term time, it will be fitted around your teaching sessions.
