Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Officer to work for a leading Leicestershire based food manufacturer
This is a permanent PART TIME position direct with our client
The Job:
• Promote a safe working environment
• Support site in minimising risk of accidents and work-related illnesses
• Conduct risk assessments
• Develop, implement and maintain Safe Systems of Work for production operations
Key Tasks:
• Review applicable EH&S legislation and controls
• Review company operational processes to ensure they are in line with external safety legislations
• Conduct risk assessments to identify work areas with high risk of operational hazard
• Promote and review near misses
• Make recommendations on safety topics such as proper waste disposal, fire regulations, and noise
• Carry out investigations to identify the root cause of an incident or other unsafe conditions on site and recommend corrective actions
• Provide health and safety training to employees
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and organise drills to prepare employees for such occurrences
• Monitor safety performance and prepare reports for management review
You would be required to work 8 hours per week (equivalent of 1 day)

Salary is up to £35k pro rata and you get 28 days holiday including bank holidays
The person:
• Previous experience and a passion for Health & Safety
• NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
• Strong communication skills
• Problem solving skills
• Organised
• Ability to prioritise and manage your time
• Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
