Crynodeb

Meet Maria, a quality and respectful very private person. She is a kind and loving Mum, has great patience and understanding, with a beautiful nature and great personality, she is resilient, very happy and positive. Maria enjoys sewing, being creative and achieving things, she used to be able to do many things like gardening, now unable due to her mobility and dementia, however if she can sit and do things it makes her happy accomplishing something that can be of use.

You’ll support Maria with washing and dressing, including preparing breakfast, assisting to the toilet, being there to oversee in case she should fall or require your assistance with tasks. Giving Maria her medication, keeping her company and stimulating her to keep her mind busy, pushing wheelchair and/or overseeing her walk with frame from A to B.

Maria would love to work with someone who is soft, kind, has a gentle nature, respectful, trustworthy, understanding and patient as Maria has dementia and forgets things, you will need to repeat things often and never assume. She would adore you to be a very happy person and always smiling, giving her a little laugh along the way as she is used to this environment with her loving family.

Maria lives in a rural location outside Larkhall with no public transport or pavements near her home, so it’s important you’re comfortable working in this area, also you must be comfortable with a Dog living in the home.

This role involves 14 hours per week, with flexibility of more depending on Maria’s needs. Days and times are very flexible and can be discussed at interview.

While experience with Dementia is helpful, also someone with moving and handling experience, a respectful, trustworthy patient, soft & gentle nature is most important.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
