SEMH Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support (Epilepsy Trained)
Tower Hamlets
Full Time | Immediate Start
A primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking for a confident SEMH Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil requiring additional support, including epilepsy awareness and monitoring.
This role is ideal for someone calm, patient and experienced working with challenging behaviour and emotional regulation.
Requirements:
* Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Support Worker
* Epilepsy training with hands-on experience supporting a pupil with seizures
* Strong understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management
* Ability to stay calm and respond quickly in medical situations
* Experience providing 1:1 support within a classroom or specialist setting
* A proactive and resilient attitude
Responsibilities:
* Providing 1:1 classroom support to a pupil with SEMH needs
* Monitoring and supporting a pupil with epilepsy in line with the care plan
* Supporting the pupil's emotional regulation and engagement in learning
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
* Implementing behaviour strategies and positive reinforcement
* Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the pupil at all times
