Full-Time | February Half Term - July
Talent Education is currently seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Tameside, providing targeted support for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This full-time role will begin after February half term and run through to July, offering the opportunity to support secondary-aged pupils as they develop confidence, resilience, and positive engagement with their education.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and the SENCO to support students who may require additional behavioural and emotional guidance.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
• Supporting pupils in developing emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Encouraging pupils to stay engaged with lessons and school routines
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement support plans
• Building positive relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and motivation
• Contributing to a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
Your role will focus on helping students overcome challenges and re-engage positively with their learning.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school
• Has experience supporting students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
• Demonstrates a calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Is confident supporting pupils aged 11-16 across a range of subjects
• A dedicated consultant who understands your experience and career goals
