Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

Maybe you have recently graduated with a Psychology degree or similar or have a track record of relevant experience such as support work, SEN support or care?

Do you have the patience, resilience, and empathy needed to help pupils overcome barriers to learning?

A specialist SEMH school in Wigan is seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. The school provides tailored education for pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support in order to re-engage with learning.

The Role - SEMH Teaching Assistant

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them regulate behaviour, develop positive coping strategies, and build confidence within the classroom.

You will support pupils with needs including anxiety, behavioural challenges, trauma-related behaviours, and additional learning needs, while working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to maintain a calm and structured environment in this SEMH Teaching Assistant role.
