Full-Time Position
Talent Education is currently recruiting a Student Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in Bury, working with pupils who require additional support with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning by providing guidance, emotional support, and positive behaviour strategies within a structured school environment.
As a Student Behaviour Mentor, you will:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils requiring SEMH support
• Help pupils develop emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies
• Support students in remaining engaged with lessons and school routines
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral teams to implement individual support plans
• Encourage pupils to build confidence, independence, and positive relationships
• Help maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Your role will focus on ensuring pupils feel supported, safe, and motivated to engage positively with their education.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs or behavioural challenges
• Has experience working within an educational setting (secondary experience desirable)
• Demonstrates a patient, calm, and resilient approach
• Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Works effectively as part of a collaborative school team
• Experience supporting literacy programmes such as Read Write Inc. (RWI) would be beneficial
• A dedicated consultant who understands your experience and career goals
