Key Responsibilities
Install metal containment systems including tray, ladder rack, basket, trunking and channel to a high commercial / industrial standard.
Measure, cut, bend and install metal conduit (screwed, threaded, and saddle installations) ensuring precise alignment and compliance with site drawings.
Install trunking systems and ensure correct segregation of power, data, and fire alarm cabling where required.
Carry out high-standard cabling installations including pulling, dressing, cleating and terminating cables.
Install and terminate RC switches, isolators, distribution boards and control equipment.
Install Red Link systems and other emergency power / life safety connections in accordance with specifications.
Ensure all installations comply with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and site standards.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and containment layouts.
Maintain high standards of workmanship, ensuring containment is level, square, and securely fixed.
Conduct testing, fault finding and commissioning where required.
Follow health & safety regulations, including safe use of tools, working at height and permit systems.
Coordinate with site supervisors, other trades, and apprentices to ensure work is completed efficiently.
Typical Skills Required
Advanced metal containment fabrication and installation
Conduit bending and threading
Cable pulling and termination
Installation of RC switches, isolators and power distribution
Understanding of Red Link / emergency circuits
Ability to work from technical drawings and site specifications
High attention to neatness and professional finish

Level 3 Electrical Installation (City & Guilds / NVQ)
AM2 / Gold ECS Card Approved Electrician
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
IPAF required
