About the School
TeacherActive has partnered with a specialist provision in Braintree supporting children and young people aged 3–19 with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The school provides a highly supportive, inclusive, and structured learning environment where pupils are supported to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
All pupils at the school have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school supports a wide range of needs including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), as well as sensory and physical disabilities. Many pupils require personalised learning programmes, specialist communication approaches, and therapeutic support.
The school works closely with a multidisciplinary team including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and specialist support staff to ensure every pupil receives the support they need to achieve their full potential.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Qualified Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be passionate about inclusive education and experienced in supporting pupils with additional and complex learning needs.
You will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons and create a nurturing learning environment where pupils feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with complex SEND
•
Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
•
Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of learning, communication, and sensory needs
•
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and specialist staff
•
Monitor and assess pupil progress and contribute to EHCP targets and individual learning plans
•
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
•
Promote independence, communication, and life skills
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
•
A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and inclusive teaching practices
•
Experience supporting pupils with learning difficulties, autism, or complex needs (desirable)
•
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
•
A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach to teaching
•
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
