What skills and experience we're looking for

The Minster School is seeking to appoint a Finance Officer to join our dedicated and hard working Finance Team. Working closely with the School Business Manager, you will play a key role in delivering an efficient, accurate and responsive finance service that supports the smooth running of the school.

As part of our committed support staff team, you will contribute to the financial operations that underpin our ethos of Succeeding Together, ensuring high standards of service, attention to detail and a positive, solutions‑focused approach in all aspects of your work.

The successful candidate will:

• have recent experience in a busy financial environment
• have previous experience as a Finance Officer, Finance Assistant or similar role
• have experience prioritising and working to deadlines in a busy and much interrupted environment
• be able to promote a positive ethos and role model positive attributes
• be committed to supporting and contributing to our school ethos of Succeeding Together and the values of Wisdom, Optimism, Resilience, Kindness and Service

FTE - £26,824 - 29,540

Actual Salary - £17,611 - £19,394

To commence ASAP

Hours: 26.5 hours per week

Term Time Only + 3 weeks

Fixed Term Contract - until 31st August 2027

The Minster School is a highly regarded, oversubscribed school, serving the local community of Southwell and surrounding villages. The school currently has 1650 students on roll including over 350 students in the sixth form and 40 students in the junior department. We are regularly amongst the top schools in Nottinghamshire for achievement and attainment.

Alongside serving our own students, we are the home of East Midlands East Maths Hub, a strategic partner of the Redhill Teaching Hub and a member of the Minster Learning Alliance. The Minster School is a member of the Minster Trust for Education (MITRE), a multi academy trust.
