What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governing Body of Lydbrook Primary School is seeking an inspiring, values‑led and forward‑thinking Headteacher to lead our welcoming, community‑focused village school into the next exciting stage of its journey.
We are looking for a Headteacher who:
• Brings strong, credible leadership rooted in the values of Belonging, Empathy, Ambition and Resilience
• Can confidently lead teaching, learning and curriculum development, demonstrating a strong understanding of the current education landscape
• Has up-to-date knowledge of national expectations, including curriculum design, assessment practice, inclusive provision and the evolving Ofsted inspection framework
• Is committed to high-quality provision for pupils with SEND and understands the opportunities within current SEND reforms
• Can balance a teaching commitment with effective strategic leadership, modelling excellent classroom practice for staff
• Values and prioritises strong relationships with pupils, families, staff, governors and the wider community
• Is excited by the opportunities and challenges of leading a small, rural primary school and shaping its next chapter
