Hays Education are working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive primary school in the WV4 area of Wolverhampton. The school is committed to providing tailored support for pupils with additional needs and requires an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to deliver small‑group interventions within KS2.
You will work with a small group of KS2 pupils with SEN, all of whom have EHCPs. Your role will involve adapting the work set by the class teacher, providing targeted interventions, and monitoring the progress of each child to ensure they are fully supported both academically and emotionally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering small‑group support to KS2 pupils with identified SEN needs
- Tailoring teacher‑planned activities to meet individual EHCP targets
- Supporting pupils with communication, social development and emotional regulation
- Using differentiated strategies to help remove barriers to learning
- Recording progress, observations, and engagement
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals
- Creating a supportive, structured and encouraging learning environment
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally within KS2
- Experience working with pupils who have EHCPs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A patient, adaptable and proactive approach to supporting learning
- A passion for helping children progress and succeed
