The Opportunity:
We are currently recruiting for a Catering Assistant at Park House School. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team in a role that is both rewarding and impactful.
Catering assistants play an important part in the smooth and efficient running of our School Kitchen. The post holder will be expected to work in a flexible way to meet the needs of the School, combining planned and regular tasks with day-to-day needs and urgent response.You'll work as part of a team and assist in preparation and service of meals under instruction from the Catering Manager. Your main responsibilities will be to:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of school meals.
Assist with the service and presentation of food and beverages.
Ensure hygiene and health and safety standards are met at all times.
Ensure food portioning and counting for external sales areas or kitchens are accurate.
Carry out general duties in kitchen and dining room and also the 6th Form area.
Ensure food transportation is carried out according to the distribution HACCP procedures which includes food temperature control, transportation loading, and food transportation.
Ensure when finish serving the meals in the external sales areas or kitchens, the cleaning tasks are carried out according to cleaning procedures.
Assist with the cleaning of kitchen equipment and catering areas.
Attend training courses and meetings as required.
We are looking for someone who:
Holds a food hygiene qualification (Level 2 or equivalent)
Has demonstrable experience of catering within a school or equivalent busy environment.
Has a passion for delivering great food and attention to detail ensuring that every dish leaves the diner satisfied.
Displays a creative and confident approach to their cooking
Has knowledge of food intolerances, specific diet regimes and allergies.
Has the ability to thrive in a high-volume, pressured environment.
Holds a full UK Driving Licence.
Flexibility to undertake any role within the department.
