Are you passionate about empowering young adults with learning disabilities to achieve their employment goals? Yeovil College is seeking a motivated and compassionate Supported Internship Tutor to deliver an innovative transition-to-work programme. This rewarding opportunity is your chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting learners as they build real-world skills and progress into employment.
In this impactful role, you'll coordinate a work-based programme tailored to the strengths, interests, and aspirations of young people with learning disabilities. You'll identify internship opportunities, deliver a bespoke employability curriculum, integrating Maths, English, and job coaching techniques, and collaborate with local employers to create meaningful career pathways. You will also work closely with learners, families, and support services to develop personalised employment plans, assess progress, ensure appropriate workplace adjustments, and support the development of essential life and workplace skills. If you're ready to make a real difference in a supportive and thriving educational environment, we want to hear from you!
What we're looking for:
Previous experience of working in a teaching or coaching setting.
Level 2 English or Maths [or equivalent] or willingness to achieve.
A great communicator who can engage with students and build robust employer links.
Compassionate and respectful of the learner’s needs.
A passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning.
Experience in leading a team and fostering a supportive work environment.
What we offer:
Annual salary: £26,864 to £32,114
Full-time position, 37 hours per week, all year round.
Generous pension scheme of 28.68% employer contributions
