Electrical Fitter

Assemble and fitting precision equipment within the materials engineering sector. Take ownership of building electro-mechanical systems to tight tolerances, often as bespoke one-off or small-batch machines.

Role details

Based near Clydebank in Glasgow, working a 4-day week with overtime outside these hours paid at time and a half and frequently available.

The role

As the Electrical Fitter you'll work within a tight-knit production team assembling a varied range of precision equipment. The role exists to produce high quality, reliable machines that meet exacting functional and aesthetic standards for customers in specialist industries. You'll be focused on electrical assembly to build, wire and finish electro-mechanical products.

What you'll be doing

- Assembling electro-mechanical products from technical drawings and schematics.
- Building electrical systems.
- Using manual machining and hand tools as part of the build and fitting process.
- Accessing and using data from MRP and CAD data management systems to support assembly work.
- Maintaining equipment, supplies and build records to agreed quality, safety and environmental standards.
- Supporting frequent bespoke and varied builds, adapting your approach to different machine configurations.

What we're looking for

- Time-served electrical fitter with proven electrical assembly experience.
- Experience assembling electro-mechanical products, ideally including panel wiring or similar.
- Strong ability to work to tight tolerances and produce consistently high-quality work.
- Confident reading and working from technical drawings and electrical/mechanical schematics.
- Competent using manual machining and hand tools during assembly.
- Computer literate, able to search for and use information in MRP and CAD data systems.
- High attention to detail, with care for both functional accuracy and finished appearance.
- Experience with control panels or electrical hardware configuration is an advantage.
