About the Leisure Centre

Lift Rawlett Leisure Centre is a well-used community facility located within Lift Rawlett in Tamworth. The centre provides a range of high-quality indoor and outdoor spaces for sports clubs, fitness groups, community organisations and local events.

The facilities play an important role in supporting the local community by providing accessible spaces for physical activity, recreation and social engagement outside of school hours. As part of Lift Schools, a national multi-academy trust of 58 schools, the leisure centre benefits from strong operational support, professional development opportunities and a commitment to high standards across all facilities.

We are now looking to recruit two casual Leisure Centre Assistants to support the smooth operation of the centre and help maximise community use of the facilities.

Your new role

As a Leisure Centre Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring the leisure centre operates safely, efficiently and provides a welcoming environment for all visitors.

You will support the management of community bookings, assist with the preparation and supervision of facilities and act as a key point of contact for users of the centre.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing enquiries and bookings for the leisure centre's facilities
  • Coordinating facility hire through the booking system
  • Preparing sports halls, pitches and activity spaces for community use
  • Acting as the main point of contact for customers and community groups
  • Ensuring all users follow health and safety and safeguarding procedures
  • Supporting the promotion of the leisure centre to increase community participation
  • Supervising lettings and responding to any issues during sessions
  • Ensuring the building is secure during evening and weekend lettings

This role requires flexibility, as shifts will include evenings and weekends depending on the bookings schedule.

What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and able to deliver excellent customer service to a wide range of leisure centre users.

You will ideally have experience in a customer-facing or leisure environment and be confident communicating with members of the public, community organisations and staff.

You will also:

  • Be confident using IT systems to manage bookings and enquiries
  • Be able to work independently and respond calmly to issues as they arise
  • Have a good understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Demonstrate an awareness of safeguarding responsibilities

A GCSE in Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) is required. First aid training, or a willingness to complete this training, would be advantageous.
