Crynodeb

Are you an experienced procurement professional who wants to work on one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure programmes?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in a multi-billion-pound reservoirs programme designed to secure long-term water resilience for millions of people across the UK. If you thrive on complex procurement projects, strategic supplier engagement, and making a genuine impact, this could be the role for you.

Working within a major regulated utilities organisation, you’ll help drive procurement strategies that support large-scale capital delivery projects that will shape the future of sustainable water supply.

This is a high-visibility role where your expertise will directly influence supplier strategy, commercial negotiations, and programme success.

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you’ll lead procurement activity across a portfolio of major projects within a nationally significant infrastructure programme.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading complex procurement strategies and sourcing activities for large-scale capital projects
• Managing supplier selection, tender processes, and commercial negotiations
• Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and supply chain partners
• Ensuring procurement activity complies with Procurement Act 2023 and governance frameworks
• Developing strong category and market insight to drive best value and mitigate risk
• Supporting contract performance alongside commercial teams post-award
• Mentoring colleagues and contributing to continuous improvement across the procurement function

What you’ll bring

You’ll be a commercially minded procurement professional with experience delivering results within large infrastructure, construction, or capital delivery environments.

Ideally you will have:

CIPS Level 5 (MCIPS preferred) or a degree in procurement, supply chain, or a related field
• Strong experience delivering procurement strategies within major projects or programmes
• Knowledge of Procurement Act 2023 / PCR2015 / UCR2016
• Experience working with NEC4 contracts
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
• The ability to manage multiple complex procurement projects simultaneously
• Strong analytical and project management capability

Experience within utilities or other regulated sectors would be advantageous.

What you’ll get in return

You’ll be joining an organisation delivering one of the UK’s most important infrastructure programmes, with strong investment in its people and long-term sustainability.

Benefits include:

• Competitive salary up to £62,000
Hybrid working (2–3 days office based)
Double-matched pension contributions up to 6%
Private healthcare
Annual bonus scheme
Life assurance (8x salary)
26 days holiday + bank holidays with flexible holiday options
• Flexible benefits to support your lifestyle and wellbeing

Why this role stands out

This is more than a procurement role.

It’s an opportunity to help deliver a once-in-a-generation infrastructure programme, working alongside experts in engineering, commercial strategy, and sustainability to secure water resources for decades to come.

Your work will directly contribute to critical national infrastructure and environmental resilience.

Closing date: 30th March 2026
