Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support and assistance to students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential
- Collaborate with teachers to implement personalised learning plans, ensuring that each student's individual needs are met
- Deliver one-on-one or small-group support, adapting teaching methods and resources to suit the learning styles and abilities of the students
- Assist with the preparation and organisation of learning materials, ensuring that the classroom environment is inclusive and stimulating
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and contributing to the assessment of individual learning outcomes
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge
- Provide personal care and support to students as needed, such as assistance with toileting, feeding, or mobility
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, adhering to all relevant health and safety policies and procedures
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Teaching Assistance or a related field
- Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN) in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students with special needs
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to the changing needs of students and the school environment
- A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate or the willingness to undergo the necessary checks
