SEN Teaching Assistant
- Location: King's Norton, Birmingham, B38
- Pay Rate: £480 - £500 per week
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm (term-time only)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract: Full-time, long-term, temp to perm


Long Term Futures are seeking a passionate, caring and resilient SEN Teaching assistant who can provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil, with Autism and Speech Language Communication Needs in a welcoming primary school in Kings Norton, Birmingham. You will be supporting their engagement with learning, and positive behaviour development. This role is offered on a long-term basis with the potential to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism and Speech Language Communication Needs
- Adapting teaching materials to meet the needs of the pupil
- Supporting the pupil to access learning and remain engaged during lessons
- Developing a safe and trusting relationship with the pupil
- Encouraging the pupil to build confidence in a comfortable and reassuring environment


Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong experience working with children Autism and Speech Language Communication Needs
- Understanding of the Key Stage 1 Curriculum
- Understanding of Makaton and PECS
- Calm, patient and consistent approach to learning support
- Strong relationship-building skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to remain resilient and supportive in challenging situations
