About The Role:
The company are now looking for an experienced and motivated HGV Mechanic to join their busy workshop team. Working as part of the maintenance team, you’ll be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of their IVECO fleet ranging from 7.5T to 44T including Trailers, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and compliant with all road safety legislation.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same – you’ll diagnose faults, carry out planned servicing, and respond to urgent local breakdowns when required (Holiday cover only).
Key Responsibilities:
• Carrying out routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGVs and trailers
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
• Completing MOT preparation and ensuring vehicles meet DVSA standards
• Responding to breakdowns and conducting roadside repairs where necessary
• Maintaining accurate service and repair records
• Ensuring a safe and tidy working environment at all times
Candidate Requirements:
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• Proven experience as an HGV Technician/Mechanic
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of health & safety procedures and compliance requirements
• Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
