This post offers an opportunity for a Specialty Doctor or GP with a Special Interest in Women’s Health to contribute to the delivery and development of innovative group-based clinical care within a Women’s Health Hub setting. The role focuses on providing virtual group consultations and educational sessions designed to improve access to specialist advice, promote shared learning, and support women to manage a range of gynaecological and menopause-related conditions.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will deliver structured group clinics that combine clinical assessment, education, and peer-supported learning. Initially centred on menopause care, the programme will expand to include broader women’s health topics aligned with regional priorities across North East London.
The role combines direct clinical delivery with service development, supporting the ongoing evolution of group consultation models as an alternative pathway to traditional outpatient care. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with clinicians, facilitators, and operational colleagues to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
This position also provides opportunities to contribute to teaching, clinical innovation, and the wider development of integrated women’s health services. Flexibility is required, including occasional evening sessions, to maximise accessibility for patients and support service demand.
The post holder will lead the clinical delivery of virtual group consultations and educational sessions within the Women’s Health Hub programme. This will include facilitating structured group clinics, reviewing patient information in advance, and ensuring appropriate follow-up and communication with primary care colleagues.
Key responsibilities include providing holistic, evidence-based care that respects individual needs, cultural backgrounds, and confidentiality. The clinician will support patients in understanding treatment options, promoting self-management, and improving confidence in managing long-term women’s health conditions.
The role involves close collaboration with programme facilitators and project leads to design and refine session content, ensuring clinical accuracy and relevance. The post holder will contribute to identifying patients who may benefit from alternative pathways where group care is not appropriate, helping maintain equitable access to services.
In addition, the successful candidate will support the ongoing development of the group consultation model by participating in service planning, stakeholder engagement, and clinical discussions. Attendance at supervision sessions, departmental meetings, and teaching activities will form part of the role, alongside contributing to shared learning across the wider women’s health workforce.
