About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Wood Machinist / Carpenter to join a busy fabrication and production workshop specialising in the manufacture of exhibition stands, event structures, branded environments, and bespoke installations.
Working as part of a skilled fabrication team, you will play a key role in producing high‑quality components and structures used in exhibitions, roadshows, and live events across the UK.
This is a varied hands‑on role combining CNC machining, woodworking, CAD preparation, and practical workshop fabrication.
Key Responsibilities

Operating and programming CNC routers to produce precision components

Preparing and editing CAD drawings (AutoCAD or similar) for production

Creating toolpaths using VCarve / Vectric software

Cutting sheet materials including MDF, plywood, laminates, and composite boards

Assisting with the construction of exhibition stands, cabinets, and bespoke display structures

Fabricating and assembling components for roadshow units and event installations

Supporting the repair, refurbishment, and maintenance of event assets and display equipment

Working with the workshop team to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard

Maintaining workshop machinery and ensuring safe working practices are followed
Skills & Experience Required
-
Previous experience as a wood machinist, carpenter, or operating a CNC router

Ability to read and produce CAD drawings

Experience using VCarve / Vectric software

Strong woodworking, joinery, or fabrication skills

Ability to work from technical drawings and design briefs

Strong practical problem-solving ability

Good attention to detail and quality standards
Desirable Experience

Background in exhibition stand building or event production

Cabinet making or bespoke furniture manufacturing experience

Experience operating workshop machinery such as panel saws, edge banders, or routers

Experience working with bespoke or one-off fabrication projects
