Are you a passionate and resilient Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

TeacherActive is currently recruiting for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in East London. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to help them thrive both academically and personally.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs

  
  

• Help pupils develop emotional regulation, confidence, and positive behaviour strategies

  
  

• Support learning activities and help pupils stay engaged in the classroom

  
  

• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral team to implement behaviour support plans

  
  

• Promote a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

  
  

• Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing

    The Ideal Candidate:

    • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional learning needs

      
      

    • Patient, resilient, and calm under pressure

      
      

    • Strong behaviour management and communication skills

      
      

    • Passionate about supporting pupils’ emotional and social development

      
      

    • A good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education
