Are you a dynamic, motivated, experienced and flexible nurse seeking a new challenge working within our Specialist Team for Orthopaedic Recovery Management [STORM]? Here at Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust we are looking for a dedicated professional to join our STORM Team at Basildon Hospital.
We are looking for someone who is a good team player and will bring a positive attitude to the trust with a flexible approach to working.
Your role will be to provide the highest standard of individualised care for our patients following elective joint surgery within the community setting. Access to a car is vital as you will be working in the community.

As well as having significant experience in the management of Orthopaedic patients, the Team Leader will be required to;
Facilitate Same Day Discharge for Elective Joint replacement patients through the provision of a Nurse-led Specialist Orthopaedic Recovery Management Team (STORM) for joint replacement patients to cover the needs of the service for both pre and post operative elective orthopaedic surgery.
Assess patients in their own homes, pre-operatively for fitness for and to identify health concerns (can be complicated medical conditions involved) which may prevent surgery being performed. Assessment of home environment. Patients can be elderly, in pain with communication problems and may have complex case histories. The information given about treatment is often highly complex. Need to have empathy and to be reassuring.
Ensure that the standards and quality of care given are maintained to a high standard, to include a safe environment in which care is delivered.
Commit to the standards within the MSEFT Values and Behaviours and actively support the embedding of this within practice.
