We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consultant in Gastroenterology with a specialist interest in ERCP/EUS to join our multidisciplinary Gastroenterology team within Basildon Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to contribute to a high-quality service, offering both inpatient and outpatient care across a wide range of Gastro diseases.

You will be responsible for developing the service, working closely with colleagues in gastroenterology, hepatobiliary surgery, radiology, oncology, and transplant centres, where applicable.

Play a pivotal role in the upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy, including therapeutic skills, and confidence in managing a wide range of gastroenterology conditions

Skills and experience in endoscopy (including therapeutic skills) is essential with JAG accredited competence in upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy. The post holder will work flexibly during the week with a prearranged timetable to accommodate clinics to support the wider service and occasionally backfill in endoscopy.

Support inpatient hepatology and gastroenterology care through regular ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.

Provide advice and input for the management of gastro related emergencies.

The role encompasses outpatient clinics, inpatient ward reviews along with specialist gastro input.

You will contribute to service development and clinical leadership, and support educational, research, and audit activities within the department.
