Extrusion Machine Operator
Location: Rhyl
Salary: £26,775 per annum
Hours: 3-shift rota – 6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm, 10pm–6am

Hexagon Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Extrusion Machine Operator to join a busy and established manufacturing business in the Rhyl area. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a full-time, long-term position within a modern and growing production environment.

The Role

As an Extrusion Machine Operator, you’ll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining automated extrusion machinery to ensure smooth, efficient production of high-quality plastic products. You’ll monitor performance, carry out quality checks, and help keep production targets on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate extrusion machines in line with production specifications.


  • Load raw materials and monitor process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and speed.


  • Inspect finished products to ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy.


  • Identify and report faults, performing basic troubleshooting where required.


  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately.


  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace in line with company procedures.


  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.


    Skills & Experience

    • Previous experience operating extrusion or similar automated machinery (plastics manufacturing preferred).


    • Good understanding of production processes and machine controls.


    • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot quality issues quickly.


    • Mechanically minded with problem-solving skills.


    • Awareness of health and safety requirements in a manufacturing setting.
