We are looking for a kind and compassionate personal assistant to provide afternoon care for a gentleman in his 40s with advanced multiple sclerosis.

As personal assistant, some aspects of your role would be to:
  • Provide personal care (including washing, dressing and toileting)
  • Provide companionship
  • Help with domestic tasks
  • Administer medication
A huge part of this role is to provide a fun and engaging home environment for your client, who is great fun to be around and has an infections sense of humour. The gentleman is a wheelchair user and has his own adapted vehicle so arranging enjoyable days out would be very welcome.

Full training will be provided on use of:
  • Ceiling track hoist
  • Accessible vehicle
  • Catheter care
  • Moving and handling
We are looking for someone who can work 1-3 afternoons per week. Typical hours would include:
  • Mon 1400-1800
  • Tue 1400-1800
  • Thu 1400-2000
Please note that there is flexibility to agree on exact hours. Some overnight shifts would likely be available, which typically involve a sleeping night with a very brief waking period for care duties.
