HSE Adviser – Substation Project
Location: East Lothian (site-based with some travel required)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Approx. 8 months (Working full time day shifts between Mon-Fri for the duration of this project)
Pay: £550P/D (CIS/UMB/PAYE)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced HSE Adviser to support multiple substation upgrade projects across East Lothian. This is a site-based role requiring strong safety leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work across several project sites.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards, supporting construction teams, and promoting a positive HSE culture throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide on-site HSE support across several substation installation projects
- Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, HSE legislation, and network operator requirements
- Assist with RAMS, incident investigations, and corrective actions
- Lead by example to promote a proactive safety culture
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, and client representatives

Requirements:

- Proven experience as an HSE Adviser on construction or electrical infrastructure projects (substations experience desirable)
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and industry best practices
- NEBOSH Certification
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites (fuel expeses covered)
- HV Experience
- Must be SPEN Authorised (or willing to obtain this)
