Mencap is seeking passionate FEMALE SUPPORT WORKERS to join our incredible team in Long Eaton.
As a Support Worker, you’ll make a real impact in the lives of people with learning disabilities. You’ll work with individuals with a range of needs, helping them build confidence, develop skills, and live life to the fullest.
In our supported living service, you’ll support people with learning and physical disabilities, mental health needs, and communication difficulties. Your role covers everything from personal care and medication to daily activities, finances, and emotional support — all to help people achieve their goals and aspirations.
Qualities and Skills Required:
- Relationship Building: Essential for gaining the trust of the people we support, establishing open communication, and building lasting relationships.
- Patience and Understanding: Important for navigating challenging situations effectively.
- Conflict-Resolution Techniques: Necessary for managing and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner.
What we're looking for:
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- People who enjoy interactivity with the people we support. Some activities include: Sightseeing, daytrips etc.
Contract options:
- Part-time: 24 hours
Shift times:
- Days: Varying shifts Between 07:00-22:00.
- Sleep ins required and paid at £63.70 per sleep.
- Must be flexible to cover weekends on a rota basis.
*All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references
