What skills and experience we're looking for

The Priory Lincoln Academy is committed to providing high-quality education and training to our students. The Academy is developing specialisms in technical education for Post-16 students. We are working closely with industry partners to share skills to inspire the next generation of workers. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Motor Vehicle Instructor/Teacher to join our team and deliver a Level 2 Motor Vehicle course to Post-16 students.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective instruction in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair to our Post-16 students. Safety compliance is paramount, along with the ability to communicate well. Working with young people can be very rewarding, and the appointed person will have an ability to give lots of positive feedback, which will encourage our students to achieve the recognition they deserve. The role can be tailored to part-time or full-time hours, depending on the candidate's availability and our program needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality Level 2 Motor Vehicle courses to Post-16 students.
• Prepare and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum requirements.
• Provide hands-on training and theoretical instruction in motor vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Assess and evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and practices.
• Ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (minimum Level 3 essential).
• Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed) is desirable, but not essential.
• Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA, A1, D32/D33) is highly desirable, but not essential – we are willing to upskill the right candidate.
• Experience in delivering motor vehicle courses or practical training.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.

Desirable Attributes:

• Previous experience working with Post-16 students.
• Industry experience in motor vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Familiarity with the latest automotive technology and diagnostic equipment.
