Hours: 15 hours per week worked across 3 days between Monday–Thursday.
Salary: £10,220 per annum (£25,211 FTE)
Location: The Laburnum Centre, Bognor Regis

About the Role
As our Specialist Health & Exercise Instructor, you’ll play a vital role in reducing health inequalities and improving wellbeing across the Arun and Chichester communities. You’ll work closely with the Lead Specialist Health & Exercise Instructor to deliver and grow our targeted physical activity programmes, supporting people with a range of health conditions including mental health challenges, fibromyalgia, obesity, diabetes, joint replacements, stroke, COPD and Parkinson’s.

You’ll help older adults feel safe, supported, motivated and welcomed, whether they’re stepping into the gym for the first time or progressing through a tailored programme. Your work will make a real, lasting difference to people’s lives.

Working Hours
This is a 15 hour per week role and hours can be flexibly spread over 3 days Monday - Thursday, whichever combination works best. We’re open to discussing arrangements for the right candidate.

What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting People to Feel Valued
• Deliver tailored physical activity programmes to improve health outcomes.
• Complete assessments, create individual exercise plans and track progress.
• Lead high quality PT sessions and group classes that build confidence.
• Provide welcoming inductions and guided support for new members.

Creating Spaces Where Everyone Feels Included
• Work with healthcare professionals and community partners to boost engagement.
• Support the growth of the Exercise Referral Programme.
• Promote a range of classes suitable for diverse needs and abilities.
• Keep accurate records on Charity Log and ensure all paperwork is up to date.

Being Passionate About Quality and Safety
• Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming gym environment.
• Complete daily equipment checks, report faults and coordinate repairs.
• Support membership growth through outreach, marketing and community activity.
• Process payments and assist with financial administration.
• Act as a First Aider and keep qualifications current.
