Location: Scunthorpe and surrounding areas
Start Date: Immediate and ongoing opportunities
Daily Rate: £150–£250 (dependent on experience)

Are you an enthusiastic SEND Teacher looking for flexible teaching opportunities where you can make a real impact?

TeacherActive is currently recruiting skilled and compassionate SEND Teachers to support a range of specialist and mainstream schools across Scunthorpe. These roles are offered on a supply basis, giving you the chance to work in different learning environments while supporting pupils with additional needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for teachers who enjoy variety in their work and are passionate about helping pupils with special educational needs develop confidence, independence, and key life skills.

About the Role

As a SEND Supply Teacher, you will work across a variety of schools supporting pupils with diverse additional needs. You may be covering planned absences, short-term placements, or longer-term assignments depending on availability.

Your responsibilities may include:

    Delivering engaging and adaptable lessons that meet a variety of learning needs


    Supporting pupils with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)


    Working closely with Teaching Assistants and school staff to ensure pupils receive the support they need


    Creating a positive and structured classroom environment that encourages participation and progress


    Following existing lesson plans or adapting activities to suit pupil abilities where required


    Supporting behaviour management strategies and promoting a calm, inclusive learning atmosphere


    The Ideal Candidate Will:

      Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification


      Have experience supporting pupils with special educational needs or disabilities


      Be adaptable, confident, and comfortable working across different school settings


      Demonstrate strong behaviour management and communication skills


      Be passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs
