ROLE DESCRIPTION

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Work Experience Coordinator to deliver a high‑quality work experience and placement programme for learners across the college. You will play a key role in inspiring students to take ownership of their career development, supporting them to gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to thrive in employment.
Working alongside colleagues, employers and external partners, you will coordinate engaging, safe and impactful work experience opportunities that align with curriculum goals and student aspirations.
What You'll Do
- Source, build and maintain strong relationships with employers to create meaningful work placement opportunities.
- Support learners in developing work‑readiness skills through sessions and workshops.
- Motivate students to secure aspirational, high‑quality placements.
- Work closely with curriculum teams to plan work‑related activities including guest speakers, industry visits, live briefs and virtual experiences.
- Ensure all health and safety, safeguarding and quality assurance processes are followed.
- Maintain accurate learner and placement records using CRM and college systems.
- Champion learner success stories and positive employer engagement through collaboration with Marketing.
- Contribute to the development of innovative CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance) practices across the college.
About You
Essential experience & skills include:
- Experience supporting young people individually and in groups.
- Experience of working with employers and external partners.
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good IT skills and the ability to manage learner data and reporting.
- Understanding of FE landscape, including study programmes, apprenticeships or T Levels (or willingness to develop this knowledge).
Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs (A-C / 9-4) including Maths and English.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Relevant learner‑support qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake).
A full UK driving licence is desirable.
