About the role

As a result, alongside several consortium partners; Balfour Beatty have been selected by bp (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.

Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Facilities Manager to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.

Role purpose: To coordinate and oversee the centralised Temporary Site Facilities (TSF) activities across the project, and coordinate reporting and compliance for all locations, as well as manage a dedicated number of key suppliers/sub contractors.

What you'll be doing

To ensure that we have compliant sites from a facilities perspective across the project:
  • Planning, identifying, arranging and managing all maintenance works;
  • Procuring and managing all soft and hard FM service agreements as required;
  • Keeping relevant service sheets, job completion certification etc on file;
  • Implementing relevant health and safety policies and ensuring they are observed;
  • Ensuring all compliance is managed and the UK Property Teams ‘My Compliance’ system updated;
  • Organising office layout and assisting with staff moves;
  • Carrying out desk count returns and utilisation surveys;
  • Ensuring that the Facilities Management Plan (HSES-TF-0007c) for the site is completed;
  • Run monthly meetings with the wider facilities team to ensure consistency of process and performance at all locations;
  • Produce monthly facilities report to capture all relevant data and highlight areas for improvement;
  • Maintain the SharePoint site for FM to ensure that the information is up to date;
  • Contributing to the continued improvement of quality performance through performance review and identification of appropriate training / coaching for the team;
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Health & Safety;
  • Assist Senior Project Manager and Logistics Manager with any additional arrangements.

Who we're looking for

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills;
  • Self motivated to work on their own and deliver against a set of target;
  • Excellent time management and communication skills;
  • Ability to work with people at various levels both internal Balfour Beatty and external;
  • Numeracy and IT skills in MS Office.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of construction in the industrial sector;
  • Understanding of working rule agreements;
  • IOSH qualification;
  • Understanding of building HSE Compliance;
  • Awareness of CDM;
  • FM experience preferred;
  • Experience of delivering HSE or Facilities in a construction environment.
