The Welsh Institute of Physical Activity, Health and Sport (WIPAHS) is seeking a motivated and versatile Research Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality, applied research across its Wales-wide network. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to work that informs policy and practice to improve physical activity, health and wellbeing across Wales.
This is a varied and collaborative role combining research delivery, stakeholder engagement, data collection and analysis, and project coordination. The postholder will work closely with academic colleagues, community partners and national stakeholders to support the design, implementation and dissemination of research and evaluation activities. Responsibilities will include coordinating focus groups, interviews and workshops; supporting participant recruitment and engagement; managing project logistics and communications; undertaking quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis; and contributing to reports, presentations and academic outputs.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities across concurrent workstreams. They will have strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work sensitively and effectively with diverse communities and partners. Experience of mixed-methods research and a commitment to inclusive, impactful research are essential.
Based at Swansea University’s Bay Campus within the A-STEM Research Centre, the postholder will work across the WIPAHS partnership and with stakeholders throughout Wales. The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful, policy-relevant research within a dynamic multidisciplinary environment.
