The Role
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide targeted support to pupils with a range of SEN needs, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated learning activities.
- Help create a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
- Use a variety of communication strategies and resources to ensure learning is accessible for all pupils.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, social interaction, and confidence-building.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and specialist staff to implement personalised learning plans.
- Contribute to monitoring pupil progress and sharing observations with the teaching team.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and carers.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced working with children with SEN, ideally in a school or specialist setting.
- Confident using positive behaviour management strategies.
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Able to adapt support to suit a wide range of learning styles and developmental stages.
- A strong communicator who works well as part of a collaborative team.
- Qualified to Level 2 in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent).
