Business Development Executive – Leeds
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Executive to join our Scottish-based client, a well-established company with extensive knowledge and strong connections across the Leeds area
This is a field-based role, and being based in Leeds is essential. The position offers a dynamic mix of customer engagement, sales, and hands-on operational involvement.
Working Hours:
Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Sales
• Travel extensively across Leeds and surrounding areas to visit existing customers and develop relationships with new prospects, including scrap yards and recycling businesses.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to grow and expand the client base.
• Purchase commodities such as catalytic converters and scrap metal, assessing material quality and negotiating competitive prices.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed targets, including prospecting, lead generation, and delivering engaging presentations.
• Maintain accurate sales records and provide regular reporting on sales performance, activities, and customer interactions.
• Assess and grade catalytic converters and other materials based on their properties and quality.
Requirements
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to assist with operational tasks when required.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload independently.
• Flexibility to travel for training in Dunfermline, Scotland, and across the assigned sales territory.
• A valid UK driving licence.
• Physically capable of handling and lifting materials.
