The Start Well Team within Public Health lead on the Enable the Best Start in Life area of focus in the Public Health Strategic Plan. This aims to improve outcomes for all young children with a focus on the period from conception to age 5. The postholder will have a passion for supporting families to give every child in Derbyshire the best start and reducing the barriers they face which result in health inequalities.

The role will support a variety of Start Well agendas, bridging the gap between strategy and action, you will have a variety of agendas within your portfolio, supporting implementation of various strategies and Start Well activity including the Derby and Derbyshire Infant Feeding Strategy 2022-2027 and the Public Health Strategic Plan 2025.

The postholder should have experience of working collaboratively with a range of partners and within a complex system.
