Search Consultancy is looking for a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our busy civils and construction teams across Sunderland. We are partnering with leading Tier 1 contractors and major groundworks firms who require "smooth and precise" experts capable of handling high-spec pours and structural finishing at a fast pace.
If you are a Finisher who thrives in a high-volume environment and can move seamlessly from initial screeding to intricate power floating and curing, we have immediate starts and long-term runs of work available now.
The Role
* Slab & Floor Finishing: Executing high-quality finishing on large-scale floor slabs, including screeding, floating, and trowelling to strict tolerances.
* Specialist Finishes: Expert application of brush, tamping, and power float finishes, as well as decorative or exposed aggregate work where required.
* Formwork & Edging: Setting up and stripping shuttering, installing expansion joints, and ensuring all edges and corners are sharp and structurally sound.
* Surface Preparation: Monitoring concrete consistency (slump) and managing the timing of the "finish" based on weather conditions and pour rates.
* Productivity Driven: We need Finishers used to the intensity of large-pour days who can keep the program on track while maintaining a "handover-ready" aesthetic.
Requirements
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Concrete Finishing or relevant trade experience.
* CSCS Card: A valid Blue or Gold card is mandatory.
* Experience: Proven track record in commercial groundworks, industrial flooring, or large-scale civil engineering projects.
* Tools & PPE: Full professional finishing kit (hand floats, edgers, etc.) and standard 5-point PPE.
* Reliability: Ability to handle early starts and stay until the pour is successfully finished and "gone off."
* Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
