Search Consultancy is looking for a Skilled Kerber to join our busy construction teams across Sunderland. We are partnering with leading civil engineering firms and major house builders who require precision and pace on high-quality roadworks and plot finishing.
If you are a specialist who thrives in a productivity-driven environment and can deliver perfectly aligned kerb lines and transitions, we have immediate starts and long-term runs of work available now.

The Role
* Setting Out & Preparation: Reading site plans to set out lines and levels for kerb runs, ensuring correct falls and drainage alignment.
* Specialist Laying: Expert installation of various kerb types including Half-Battered, Bullnose, Tri-ef, and Conservation kerbs.
* Precision Work: Cutting and fitting radius kerbs, quadrants, and drop kerbs for driveways and pedestrian crossings.
* Haunching & Backing: Ensuring all kerbs are securely bedded and hunched with concrete to local authority and site specifications.
* Productivity Driven: We need Kerber's used to the physical demands of high-volume road and path construction who can maintain a "straight as a die" finish.
Requirements
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Groundworks or Roadbuilding is highly desirable.
* CSCS Card: A valid Blue or Gold card is mandatory.
* Specialist Tickets: CPCS/NPORS for Dumper or Roller is a major advantage; Abrasive Wheels certification is essential for cutting.
* Experience: Proven track record in street works, highway construction, or residential plot finishing.
* Tools & PPE: Full professional kit (including mauls, levels, lines, and pins) and standard 5-point PPE.
* Reliability: Must be able to work as part of a gang to hit strict program deadlines.
* Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
