Hannett Hale Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a nurturing and inclusive primary school in Whitehaven, who are seeking a committed, patient, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and emotionally.
The Role
- Start Date: ASAP – July 2026
- Contract: Full time, Monday–Friday
- Setting: Primary – SEN support
- Provide high‑quality support to pupils with additional needs
- Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions
- Help maintain a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
- Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to follow support plans
- Use patience, consistency, and creativity to help pupils engage and progress
- Support emotional regulation and wellbeing throughout the school day

About You
- Experience supporting children with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language, or learning needs) is highly desirable
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is beneficial
- Calm, patient, and confident in supporting emotional and behavioural needs
- Able to build trusting relationships and communicate effectively
- Adaptable, reliable, and proactive in your approach
- Passionate about helping children develop confidence, independence, and resilience
