Role Overview
We are seeking experienced and motivated Locum Doctors at Consultant, Specialist Registrar (SPR), and Senior House Officer (SHO) levels to support clinical teams across NHS Trust departments. The successful candidates will deliver high quality patient care, contribute to multidisciplinary teams, and ensure safe, effective clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
Consultant
• Lead clinical decision making and patient management
• Supervise junior medical staff (SPR, SHO, FY doctors)
• Participate in ward rounds, clinics, MDT meetings
• Provide specialist advice and support to clinical teams
• Ensure compliance with NHS governance, audits, and clinical standards
SPR / Middle Grade
• Manage day to day patient care under Consultant supervision
• Perform assessments, investigations, and treatment plans
• Participate in on call rotas where required
• Support junior doctors and contribute to departmental teaching
• Escalate complex cases appropriately
SHO / Junior Doctor
• Conduct clerking, patient reviews, and routine clinical tasks
• Support ward rounds and maintain accurate documentation
• Request investigations and follow up results
• Provide safe, supervised patient care
• Participate in rota duties including nights/weekends (if applicable)
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential
• Valid GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Right to work in the UK (visa, passport, or settlement status)
• Relevant medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
• Up to date mandatory training (BLS/ALS, safeguarding, etc.)
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
• NHS experience appropriate to grade (Consultant/SPR/SHO)
• Strong communication, clinical judgement, and teamwork skills
Desirable
• Previous experience in the chosen specialty
• ALS/ATLS/APLS depending on specialty
• Participation in audits, QI projects, or teaching
