Neway International are seeking Senior Social Workers / Specialist Social Workers (Safeguarding & Care Planning – BR13) to join our client based with Bromley Council.

Location: Churchill Court, 2 Westmoreland Road, Bromley, BR1 1AS
Hours: 36 hours per week
Start Date: 07/04/2026

Pay Rate: £28.92 PAYE / £37.86 Umbrella
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Work Pattern: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home

About the Client
Bromley Council’s Children’s Services directorate delivers high‑quality safeguarding, care planning, and support to children, young people, and families. The Safeguarding & Care Planning Service works with children subject to Child in Need, Child Protection, and Court proceedings, ensuring their safety, stability, and long‑term wellbeing.

The Role
The Senior Social Worker / Specialist Social Worker will hold a complex caseload within the Safeguarding & Care Planning Service. The role involves completing statutory assessments, developing care plans, undertaking direct work with children and families, and progressing cases through Child Protection and Court processes. The post holder will contribute to high‑quality practice, provide professional leadership, and support less experienced colleagues where required.

Key Responsibilities
Manage a complex caseload of children subject to CIN, CP, and legal proceedings.

Complete high‑quality assessments, care plans, and reports in line with statutory requirements.

Undertake direct work with children and families to promote safety, stability, and positive outcomes.

Lead on safeguarding interventions and take appropriate action to manage risk.

Prepare and present reports for Child Protection Conferences, Looked After Reviews, and Court.

Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to deliver coordinated support.

Contribute to service development and promote best practice within the team.

Provide guidance and support to less experienced social workers when required.

Maintain accurate, timely case records in line with policy and legislation.

Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

Significant experience in safeguarding, care planning, and statutory children’s social work.

Strong understanding of legislation, statutory guidance, and child protection processes.

Excellent assessment, analytical, and report‑writing skills.

Ability to manage complex caseloads and work under pressure.

Confident in multi‑agency working and Court‑related practice.

Enhanced DBS required.
